The Marion Historic Village Display Group Inc. was created in 2011 by a small group of volunteers dedicated to preserving and promoting Marion’s distinctive cultural heritage. Since its inception the collection of memorabilia, photos and documents has grown enormously and resulted in a Museum of substantial proportions.
While the Museum is independant of governments and commercial bodies, we are grateful nevertheless for their support in our establishment and running of a museum that is unique to Marion. We are joint partners in an alliance with the Marion Historical Society Inc. and the Friends of Annie Doolan’s Cottage Inc. A written agreement has been signed ensuring cooperation and good will as we all concentrate on separate, yet sometimes overlapping aspects of Marion’s history.
Photographs and memorabilia of the Village are always being sought. Original photos are copied and returned to their owners. Volunteers wanting to become involved are also welcome.
